Cleaning Gold Jewelry Warm Water

How to clean gold by yourself?

I have a gold bracelet and I wore it all the time including when I took a shower. It started to change its color and I read that if you take a shower with gold on, the soap can get into it and cause it to change color. I am trying to find a way to get it back to its original color without taking it to a jewelry store. Someone told me you could soak it into dishwasher soap and warm water, but it didn’t work when I tried it. Are there any other ways? I heard you can use ammonia and warm water which I am thinking about trying.

I could have sworn u asked this before, get a jar of jewelry cleaner from wal-mart or a jewelry polishing cloth with the cleaner in it & follow package directions. I also heard about the ammonia thing but that could be too harsh if it’s too concentrated, I dunno, your best bet is jewelry cleaner or pick up a phone book & call a jewelry store & ask them if u don’t want to go to one.
